A reading of MIC cards from 25,000 to 25,999 yields the following information

• Although there are 1000 service numbers available in the range, 228 have no medal card to them
• So only 772 men actually in the group
• 12 of the MICs have the crime of desertion on them
• 1 of these men appear to have had their medals restored
• This means that 11 out of the 772 men deserted, or 1 in 70
• a further had medals forfeited for unspecified reasons, and of these were later restored

	26374 Private James Shine, deserted 10 Jun 1018. He was caught and held in guardhouse in Dublin, but escaped. The guard sergeant was court martialed for allowing a prisone to escape
	26354 Private Moroyan Tyrrell, deserted 21 Jul 1918 He appears to have had his gratuity restored, and medals issued.
