1914 Jul 25 Attested in Dublin to RDF. His trade on joining was "Page Boy" and his mother was living at Nassau St in Dublin

1920 Sep 22. Goes on a rampage with Pte R Flynn, in which local Turks were shot by Flynn. Flynn was sentenced to execution by firing squad, but Hardy's original death sentence was commuted to life in prison. Private Francis Hardy, 5698 and 7075007, has a medal card, which shows his MM was forfeited.
1920 Nov 6 Flynn was executed in Turkey
1920 Nov 19 The 2nd RDF leaves for India and eventually back to UK
1921 Mar 5. Hardy was discharged from the Army and was in HMPrison Portland
1922 Jul 31. 2nd RDF disbanded
