6 August At Sea Left Alaunia at Mitalyne Yera. 15.30 HQ and C and D Coys on HMT Fauvette, Major Jenning in command on HMT Sania

7 August Suvla Bay Made landing at C Beach on Anafarta Bay at 18.00. Battalion in reserve under Brig General Hill. Took up position at Entrance to Salt Lake. 6th and 7th Dublins attached to 31st Brigade.

8 August Suvla Bay Battalion on water and ammunition fatigue for the Brigade

9 August Suvla Bay Battalion attached to 33 Brigade (General Maxwell), Moved from beach about 02.30 to Hill 50. A Coy detached to support the right flank of the Brigade. Battalion ordered to support firing line near Ali Bay Chesme point 105-H-8. Officers killed Lt Doyle, wounded believed killed 2nd Lt Stanton, 2nd Lt Mc Garry. Wounded and missing Major Jennings. Wounded Capt Luke, Capt Carrol, Lt Martin, 2nd Lt Carter, 2nd Lt Mortimer, 2nd Lt O'Carroll. Missing Lt Clery. Killed wounded and missing Other Ranks 259

10 August Suvla Bay Battalion went intot he firing line with a battalion of Queens to our left. Ordered to relieve the 5th RIF on Hill 50 at 19.30.

11 August Suvla Bay Battalion improving fire trenches on Hill 50.

12 August Suvla Bay Battalion holding Hill 50 were relieved by Duke of Wellingtons at 23.30. Marched to rest camp at A Beach.

13 August Suvla Bay Arrived at rest camp at 06.00. Moved to KTS Ridge.

14 August Suvla Bay Fighting strength returned as 15 officers and 463 Other Ranks

15 August Suvla Bay Battalion takes Turkish Trench and advances along KTS Ridge up to Spion Kop from where we retire before night. Officers killed Capt Preston, Capt Richards. Officers wounded Capt Whyte and Capt Lennon. Killed, wounded and missing Other Ranks - 45.

16 August Suvla Bay B, C and D Coys take up position on Spion Kop. Officer killed 2nd Lt Nesbitt. Officers wounded 2nd Lt Healey and 2nd Lt Moloney. Killed , wounded and missing 17 Other Ranks. Capt Tittle and 2nd Lt Corbat-Singleton with first reinforcement of 157 men arrive at 10.00

17 August Suvla Bay Battalion relieved in the evening: go to A Beach

18 August Suvla Bay Move to Rest Camp at 09.00

19 August Suvla Bay Battalion on fatigue, roads, etc. 2nd Lt Corbat-Singleton, 2nd Lt Cullan and 2nd Lt Gilmour leave for hospital.

20 August Suvla Bay Battalion move to Lala Baba. Capt Tittle and Capt Thompson go to hospital.

21 August Suvla Bay Battalion move up as Brigade reserve to occupy line of trenches running roughly 91-D-8 to 104-T-7, vacated by the 11trh Division when they advanced. Left Lala Baba at 16.30. Casualties during the advance, officers nil, other ranks 41.

22 August Suvla Bay Fighting strength is 4 officers, and 429 Other Ranks. Moved up to about 92-A-5 Kurieja Dere Map and started relieving at 19.30. Had 7th Royal Dublin Fusiliers on left, and Hants Yeomanry on our right.

23 August Suvla Bay Fighting strength is 4 officers, and 364 Other Ranks. Improved parapet of firing trench.

24 August Suvla Bay Relieved Northumberland Fusiliers at 19.30 at 92-B-4/5. Started digging up to no.2 Australian piquet at 92-B-7/8

25 August Suvla Bay 2 men killed and 8 wounded by snipers and shrapnel. Continued digging

26 August Suvla Bay Improved trenches using limited supply of sandbags.

27 August Suvla Bay Moved 200 yards to our left. Notts Yeomanry taking over on our right. Dug 100 yards of trench, 150 yards ahead of our line with a view to straightening line running through Kin Kavacler.

28 August Suvla Bay Improved the trench started on the 27th Aug.

29 August Suvla Bay Continued work on forward trench. Brig General Kenna VC, badly wounded close to the right of our line. He died an hour after reaching the 31st Ambulance

30 August Suvla Bay Battalion continued improving line: 3 good wells close to line. Battalion moved to 105-R-6/8 to the left of 6th Munsters, having 5th RI Fusiliers on our left. Brigade now altogether in order from left - 6th Dublins, 6th Munsters, 7th Munsters, 7 Dublins.

31 August Suvla Bay Found trenches very wet and parapet needing much improvement. At 19.50 heavy firing was heard from KTS ridge and near 24.00 message was received from 10th Division that an attack might be expected on the centre of the line. Nothing happened, all being quiet after midnight. Fighting Strength 6 officers and 362 Other Ranks. 2nd Lt Chambers and 2nd Lt Craig attached to the battalion.
