Beaumont-Hamel is a village 10 Kms north of Albert. Take the D919 road from Puisieux to Mally Maillet until you reach a crossroad signposted Auchonvillers on the left hand side. Follow this road (D174) until you see Beaumont signposted at a 'T' junction, turn left onto the D163 and Beaumont-Hamel British Cemetery is located on the left about 1 Km along this road.. Only 1 RDF there

On leaving Serre les Puisieux, 3 kilometres further along the D919 turn left onto the D174 following the signs for Auchonvillers. After 1.3 kilometres turn left onto the D163 in the direction of Beaumont. At the crossroads in Beaumont village, turn left following the CWGC sign for Munich Trench British Cemetery, which is about 1 kilometre further on.

On arrival at Beaumont Hamel there is a crossroads where a signpost will lead you left to Waggon Road Cemetery (1.5 kilometres along a country lane). Waggon Road was the name given to the road running north of the village of Serre.

Hamel is a small village about 6.5 kilometres north of Albert. Using the D929 from Bapaume to Albert, continue until you come to La Boisselle, where there is a right turn signposted to Aveluy on the D20. Upon entering Aveluy, continue straight until you reach the crossroads where you should turn right to Beaumont-Hamel. Continue for 5 kilometres until you reach Hamel village where the military cemetery is on your immediate left.

Using the D919 from Arras to Amiens you will drive through the Villages of Bucquoy, Puisieux then Serre Les Puisieux (approximately 20 kilometres south of Arras). On leaving Serre Les Puisieux, 700 metres further along the D919, turn left onto a small lane and continue for 1.4 kilometres. Visitors should bear in mind that there is no designated parking in front of the Cemetery entrance, and access to the graves is up two flights of steps. Knightsbridge Cemetery, Mesnil

The 6 men who fell on 13 November 1916, who are buried here are the 6 officers. None of the men who fell that day are buried here.

The village of Mesnil is about 8 kilometres north of the town of Albert on the D129 road. The cemetery is about 2 kilometres north-east of Mesnil (signposted in the centre of Mesnil). Access is by a farm track of which 1 kilometre is tarmac and 1 kilometre is dirt track (unsuitable for cars). The cemetery is 200 metres from the track and no permanent grass pathway exists.

Mesnil Communal Cemetry Extension

The village of Mesnil is about 6.5 kilometres north of Albert. Using the D929 from Bapaume to Albert, continue until you reach La Boisselle where there is a right turning signposted to Aveluy on the D10. Upon entering Aveluy continue straight until you reach the crossroads where you should turn right to Beaumont-Hamel. Continue for 4 kilometres and take the left turning to Mesnil Martinsart. On reaching Mesnil village, carry straight on through and when leaving the village the communal cemetery will be found on your left side.

Mesnil-Martinsart is a commune in the Department of the Somme, on the right bank of the Ancre, between Albert and Beaumont-Hamel. Using the D929 from Bapaume to Albert, continue until you reach La Boisselle where there is a right turn signposted to Aveluy on the D20. Upon entering Aveluy continue straight until the crossroads where you should turn right to Beamont-Hamel. Continue for 4 kilometres and then take the left turning to Mesnil Martinsart. On reaching Mesnil village, take the first right turn and then the first right turn again where a rough road will take you 1.5 kilometres to the cemetery.

Auchonvillers Military Cemetery

Auchonvillers is approximately 20 Kms south of Arras. Using the D919 from Arras to Amiens you will drive through the villages of Bucquoy, Puisieux then Serre-les-Puisieux. On leaving Serre-les-Puisieux, 3 Kms further along the D919, turn left following the signs for Auchonvillers. At the crossroads in the village centre follow the CWGC signs for Auchonvillers Military Cemetery which is on the outskirts of the village on the right hand side.

A CWGC signpost leading to Hawthorn Ridge No.1 Cemetery can be found 300 metres before Newfoundland Park.

Mill Road Cemetery, Thiepval

The Cemetery (signposted at Thiepval) is about 1kilometre north-west of the village on the north side of the D73 road to Hamel. Access to the cemetery, 500 metres from the road, is by a track (suitable for cars).

Connaught Cemetery Thiepval

Thiepval is a village about 8 kilometres north-east of Albert. The Cemetery (signposted in the village) is on the edge of Thiepval Wood near the Ulster Tower, about one kilometre north-west of Thiepval on the Thiepval-Hamel road (D73).

Puchevillers British Cemetery

Puchevillers is a village on the D11 about 19 kilometres north-east of Amiens. The British Cemetery is a little west of the village. The first Commonwealth War Graves Commission signpost is situated by the church in the village.

In June 1916, just before the opening of the Battles of the Somme, the 3rd and 44th Casualty Clearing Stations came to Puchevillers. Plots I to V, and almost the whole of Plot VI were made by those hospitals before the end of March 1917. For the next two months the 2nd/1st South Midland Casualty Clearing Station used the cemetery. Plot VII contains for the most part the graves of men who died in the German advance in 1918, many of whom were buried by the 49th Clearing Station in March 1918, or by the 48th Labour Group in August. Puchevillers British Cemetery contains 1,763 First World War burials. The cemetery was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens.
